Prior to the American Revolution, as the colonists began organizing against the tyranny of the monarchy, those suspected of not being loyal to the crown would have a large R painted on their front doors to alert the community to the rebels living inside. Though the paint was white, blue became the official color of the patriotic cause, eventually being adopted by the Continental army. The rich blue color, representing liberty, was selected to directly contrast the red associated with the British soldiers occupying the colonies. These early symbols were foundational for a movement that would eventually topple the exploitative and parasitic tyranny of the government.

            Nearly 250 years later, we once again find ourselves in need of a revolution. For the past eight years, those blindly loyal to the corruption and tyranny of the extreme right have desecrated our ideals and our way of life. The red coats of the British have been replaced with the red hats of MAGA. Now, more than ever, true patriots must make their presence known. Wear our symbol proudly as we fight to protect the freedoms those colonists fought so hard to secure.
